CALL
FOR EDITORS: Asia-Pacific Journal of Risk and Insurance
The APRIA Executive Committee invites nominations, including
self-nominations, for the position of Editor of the journal. APRIA has benefited greatly from
the leadership and dedication of the current editors, Profs. Sam
Cox and Soon-Jae Lee, from the creation of the editorial board
to actual publication of the journal, and thanks them for their
superb efforts.
Nominators should secure the
agreement of those nominated. The Editor(s) serves for a
three-year term that may be renewed.
The Executive Committee intends to make its
recommendation to the Board of Governors at the Tokyo annual
conference, with the intent that the new editor will be in place
shortly thereafter.
The
nomination should include: (1) a complete curriculum vitae and
(2) a statement of vision for the journal during the nominee’s
tenure. All nominations should be e-mailed to the APRIA
Secretariat at APRIA@scidomain.org.sg
or Secretariat@apria.org. All questions may be referred to the secretariat.

Our membership fee from this year
(beginning August 2005) includes subscription to our academic
journal, APJRI.
Individual
members for 2005~2006 also receive the benefit
of discounted registration for 2006 Tokyo conference.
We have a flexible individual membership fee structure. Members from
developed countries pay US $100, whereas members from other
countries pay between US $20~50. Students and retirees pay 50%
of the applicable fee. s Institutional membership fee
(US $500) remains unchanged. Institutional members still enjoy a
complimentary registration for APRIA conference and a
subscription right to our journal. s Corporations and university
libraries are welcome to subscribe to the journal only at an
annual rate of US $200.

Bill Chang (President-elect, Professor with National Chengchi U,
Chinese Taipei) has recently appointed as the Insurance Commissioner,
Financial Supervisory Commission, of the government.
During his appointment, he will be on leave from his university.
Despite his busy schedule during this transitional period, he
will be at our meeting in Tokyo, to present the future of the
insurance industry in his home country and to present several
academic papers.
